Lincoln Land Community College is expanding its healthcare training offerings with the launch of a new CNA to CMA Bridge program at its Jacksonville campus, aimed at helping certified nurse assistants (CNAs) transition into certified medical assistant (CMA) roles.
The program begins January 26, 2026, and runs through April 13, with classes held Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at LLCC-Jacksonville, located at 32 N. Central Park Plaza.
Designed to accommodate working professionals, the bridge program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience. Students will study medical terminology, law and ethics, infection control, safety, phlebotomy, laboratory testing, and other essential topics. A 60-hour clinical externship at a partner healthcare facility will follow, with two scheduling options: April 20–May 8 or May 11–29, typically from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We’re excited to offer the CNA to CMA Bridge program here at LLCC-Jacksonville,” said Keri Mason, director of LLCC-Jacksonville, in a college release. “This course was designed to support CNAs who are ready to advance in their careers while balancing work, family or other responsibilities. The program’s structure will help students gain valuable skills and hands-on experience without putting their lives on hold. We’re proud to help our students grow into vital roles in our local medical community.”
Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam through the National Healthcareer Association, opening doors to expanded responsibilities and career growth in clinical settings.
