Following a two-week investigation a Pittsfield man has been arrested for violating the rules of the sex offender registry program. Marlon Murphy was arrested Nov. 12 on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.
Chief Deputy Zack Orr began a criminal investigation into Murphys’ failure to comply with the terms of being on the sex offender registry, Oct. 28.
After the investigation, it was a determined there was enough evidence to arrest Murphy.
Murphy was booked and released in accordance with the Illinois SAFE-T Act.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department remains committed to ensuring compliance with state sex offender registration laws and to protecting the safety and well-being of our community.
