ROGER E. PACE
On November 4, 2025, Jersey County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Deputy Marshall Lewis, while conducting an investigation of a reckless driver, contacted Roger E. Pace (age 63) on State Highway 16 near Casey’s General Store in Jerseyville. During the contact, Deputy Lewis established probable cause to search Pace’s vehicle. With the help of JCSO Deputy Jeff Klunk, the vehicle was searched and more than one ounce of suspected crystal methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, were found inside. Pace’s vehicle was towed and he was arrested, cited, and later released pursuant to the provisions of the Illinois SAFE-T Act.
On November 5, Jersey County State’s Attorney Ben Goetten charged Pace with Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver 15 to 100 grams of Methamphetamine, a Class X Felony. If convicted, Pace faces a term of imprisonment of 6 to 30 years. Pace is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
