On Friday evening, Nov. 28, Grafton families braved the cold to join Santa for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in The Grove Memorial Park. Hot chocolate and s’mores provided by the Grafton Pub drew all around a warm fire with Nickie Brooks’ fine Christmas songs setting the holiday tone. Children were especially eager to welcome Christmas 2025, waiting excitedly for the big tree to sparkle to life as the switch was thrown—and yes, Oohs, Ahhs and cheering were heard. A wonderful time was had by all—friends greeting friends and children looking up in awe at the ‘biggest’ Christmas tree.
Grafton city hall employees worked hard to provide a memorable experience for all, centering around the children. Huge chocolate smiles and sticky fingers created first memories to begin this Christmas season. Thank you, Grafton Pub! Jake Weber and his DPW crew took advantage of warmer days to set up the giant tree and prepare for the big moment.
“Thank you to all whose efforts made this event a shining success. Please be safe in your travels,” Mayor Morrow said. “Whether you call Grafton ‘home’ or you’re passing through on a visit, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas from this “real American river town!”
