The Calhoun-Brussels Lady Warriors took a win last week after traveling to face off against the Barry-Western Lady Wildcats in a non-conference game.
Warriors Head Coach Mark Hillen said after overcoming a sluggish first half they team was able to take control of the match.
He said it was foul trouble and poor shooting from the 3-point line that kept the Warriors in check until a fourth quarter run put the game out of reach with them putting up 16 points in the quarter for a 44-26 win.
Anna Eberlin led the game in scoring with 11 points for Calhoun, with Sophie Rennecker right behind her with 10 points for Western.
Addi Ross scored six points for the Lady Warriors, Lizzy Hagen scored two, Layla Longnecker scored three, Bralyn Lammy scored seven, Sadie Kiel scored eight, Mya Sievers scored one and Riley Pohlman scored six.
Alysa Bareis scored three for Wester, Reese Bushmeyer scored six, Paisley Patterson scored four, Alexis McMullen scored four and Macy Oitker scored three.
The Lady Warriors suffered a loss to Father McGivney on Saturday, Dec. 6. Father McGivney took a seven point lead at the end of the first quarter, 17-10, and kept their lead at halftime, 32-18.
Coach Hillen said Father McGivney had a very balanced attack against the Lady Warriors and were able to sink in 10 3-pointers as they took the win, 57-29.
The Lady Warriors faced a loss at home on Nov. 24 against Quincy Notre Dame. QND put up 20 points in the first quarter while the Lady Warriors were only to get three points with a 3-pointer from Bralyn Lammy.
