The place for basketball action last week was the North Greene Spartan Tournament where seven teams battled it out for three nights to see who would walk away with the championship trophy. Competing this year were host team North Greene, Carrollton, Greenfield, Calhoun, Griggsville-Perry, Western and South County. Friday nights games gave fans their money’s worth with the last two games of the night going into overtime. At the end of the night, Calhoun defeated Carrollton to take home the Championship trophy.
Western took the top cheerleading hours followed by Greenfield Northwestern, North Greene, with GP-PHS’s Ashtyn Wainman was named to the all-tournament cheer team.
Named to the all-tourney team were: Lane Eilerman And Jack Zipprich of Calhoun, Charli Stumpf, Carater Randolph of Carrollton, Caden Colwell and Leo Bergschneider of South County, Levi Barnes of GP/PHill, Luke Farris, North Greene.
