Another long-time employee is making their exodus from Boyd Healthcare Services. This time a beloved doctor who has been with the hospital for nearly three decades
According to a press release Dr. Renan Mapue, who has been employed with Boyd Healthcare Services for 28 years, is leaving to focus on family and future and professional goals.
However, posts on social media by his patients hint at other motives, specifically that Dr. Mapue is being “forced to resign” due to outrageous demands, including, but not limited to, working more hours for the same pay. Another allegation was that doctors being interviewed to take his place were being offered more money than he was currently making.
Dr. Mapue is currently seeing patients in the Greenfield office three days a week and lends his services in the Emergency Room as well.
Below is the press release, in its entirety.
“After 28 years of caring for patients and serving our community, Dr. Mapue has made the decision to step away from his role at Boyd Hospital as he begins a new chapter focused on family and future personal and professional goals.
“Dr. Mapue has been part of our Boyd family since 1998. His decision comes after thoughtful reflection and was not made lightly. As his children grow and priorities shift, Dr. Mapue shared his desire to devote more time to his family while pursuing his next challenge.
“During this transition, Dr. Mapue will work closely with our team to ensure continuity of care for his patients. Boyd Hospital remains committed to providing high quality primary care services, and patients can expect the same level of compassionate local care they know and trust.
“We are grateful for Dr. Mapue’s 28 years of service and the role he has played in caring for generations of families in our community. While we will miss him, we fully support his decision and wish him nothing but the best in years ahead.
For questions related to appointments or care, patients are encouraged to contact Boyd Hospital directly. Our team is here to support patients through this transition.”
