Suspicious activity at a recent sporting event at Pleasant Hill High School prompted the presence of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department. The event was reported Jan. 22, just after 6 p.m.
School administrators contacted the PCSD reporting a juvenile reportedly in possession of a firearm at the event.
PHHS administrators monitored the juvenile until the arrival of two Pike County Deputies.
Once deputies arrived, they made contact with the juvenile and located an items that resembled a handgun, but, was not.
The juvenile was subsequently released to the custody of his parent.
The incident remains under investigation by the PCSD and upon completion of that investigation, reports will be forwarded to the Pike County State’s Attorney’s Office for formal review.
