Free library cards available for Winchester Elementary teachers

The Winchester Public Library will offer free library cards to Winchester Elementary School teachers and instructional specialists who live within the school district but outside the City of Winchester.
“We know that teachers often spend their own money to support their classrooms, and we want to help expand their access to library materials, ” said Jeanette Wallace, director of the Winchester Public Library. “This program is one small way we can support the important work they do every day. ”
The $35 fee for non-resident library cards will be covered through grant funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, awarded in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The program is available immediately.
Eligible teachers and specialists may apply by visiting the Winchester Public Library in person, requesting a non-resident teacher library card, and presenting a current school ID at the time of registration.
