Ali Little and Evynn Gregory combined to score 37 points as West Central beat Carrollton 54-42 in girls’ basketball Feb. 2 at Bluffs.
The Cougars led 26-22 at halftime and outscored Carrollton 17-7 in the third quarter.
Gregory scored 15 points, including West Central’s first 13 points, in the third quarter
West Central led 26-24 before Gregory scored 11 straight points. She grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to give the Cougars a 37-24 lead.
Gregory scored with 42 seconds remaining, and West Central led 43-29 after three quarters.
Paisley Sturtevant made a three-point basket and extended the lead to 46-30 with 5:22 remaining in the game.
West Central (20-8) made 10 three-point field goals in the game, including eight in the first half.
Little scored 19 points and had seven assists and three steals for West Central. Gregory scored 18 points and had nine rebounds.
West Central (22-8) held Roxana scoreless for more than 11 minutes and won 52-36 Feb. 7 at Bluffs.
The Cougars led 14-13 after one quarter. Roxana scored and led 15-14 with 6:57 remaining in the second quarter. West Central scored the next 26 points, and Roxana did not score again until 2:14 remained in the third quarter.
Jada Lawson made a three-point basket at the buzzer, and West Central led 26-15 at halftime. Grubb converted a three-point and extended the lead to 40-18 in the third quarter.
Little scored 18 points to lead the winners.
Gregory scored eight points. Grubb and Sturtevant each scored seven points. Kaufmann scored five points, and Lawson scored three. Lashmett and Mae Rueter each scored two points.
Little and Gregory each scored in double figures as West Central beat Calhoun 43-33 Jan 5 at Hardin.
The Cougars led just 11-10 after and extended the lead to 27-18 at halftime. They led 39-22 after three quarters.
Little scored 16 points to lead West Central, and Gregory scored 12.
Grubb scored six points, and Braylee Little scored four. Kaufmann scored three points, and Lashmett scored two.
