Western has four Illinois State Scholars

Western High School Principal Larry Lagemann is pleased to announce that 4 students from the Western High School graduating class of 2026 have been designated as Illinois State Scholars.
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, confers this important recognition of academic achievement to exceptional Illinois high school students annually. This year, more than 19,200 honorees join the other outstanding students who have been honored since the designation was first introduced in 1958.
The following Western High School students were named 2026-27 Illinois State Scholars:
Sabrina Aebel, daughter of Susan Aebel and Ian Aebel, Ella Conkright, daughter of Devin and Jean Conkright, Alexander Conner, son of Nicole Malone and Loryn White, daughter of Daniel and Lacy White.
