A Greene County woman has been sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for possession of methamphetamine.
Greene County States Attorney Craig M. Grummel said that Sherri K. Sprague, 55, has been sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.
Sprague entered a guilty plea on March 9 in Greene County Circuit Court before Judge Zachary Schmidt. The conviction stems from an incident that occurred on Nov. 24, 2025 in Greene County when Sprague knowingly possessed less than five grams of a substance containing methamphetamine.
This isn’t the first time Sprague has been sentenced to IDOC for methamphetamine possession. According to Judici, she was found guilty of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine on Nov. 21, 2024 and sentenced to four years in IDOC followed by two years of mandatory supervised release.
According to the IDOC Internet Inmate Status website, Sprague was paroled on Sept. 3, 2025 after serving less than 10 months of her four-year sentence.
She was arrested for the second time less than two months after being paroled and was back in the Decatur facility on Nov. 26, 2025 for violation of parole.
According to IDOC, she has a projected parole date of March 3, 2027 and a projected discharge date of Sept. 5, 2027.
Grummel thanked the Roodhouse Police Department for their work investigating the case and their continued efforts in combating illegal drug activity in Greene County.
