On Friday, March 20, over 60 students from high schools from throughout Western Illinois and Northeast Missouri – including Western High School in Barry and Calhoun High School – attended an agriculture exploration day at the John Wood Community College ag education center outside Perry in Pike County. Students are shown here learning how to administer subcutaneous and intramuscular shots by injecting mandarin oranges with water containing food coloring. Throughout the event, the students learned more about JWCC ag programs, including Ag Business, Ag Education & Leadership, Ag Mechanics, Animal Care Vet Assistant, Beef Specialist, Conservation, Crop Science & Technology, and Swine Specialist.
