Thrice Kirkpatrick hit two home runs to lead West Central to a 12-5 win over Liberty in baseball Mar. 20 at Winchester.
Liberty jumped out on top with three runs in the top of the first inning.
Tucker Arnold doubled with one out in the bottom of the first. Kirkpatrick followed with a home run and cut the margin to 3-2.
Kirkpatrick homered again in the fifth inning after Anthony Hance reached on a fielder’s choice and Arnold singled. Ben Bangert walked and scored on a passed ball later in the inning.
West Central added seven runs in the sixth inning.
Corbin Arnold was hit by a pitch, and Jack Little reached on an error. Hance singled to drive in one run, and another run scored on an error. Tucker Arnold reached on an error, and Kirkpatrick was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Haden Johns hit a grand slam home run and extended the lead to 12-5.
Kirkpatrick went 3-for-3 with two home runs, scored three runs and drove in 5 runs. He also pitched the final three and two-thirds innings and picked up the win. He struck out six batters and allowed two hits.
Johns went 1-for-4 with a home run, scored one run and drove in four runs.
Tucker Arnold went 2-for-4 with a double and scored two runs. Hance went 1-for-4, scored one run and drove in one run.
Blaine Vortman went 1-for-4. Bangert, Corbin Arnold and Jack Little each scored one run.
Payson beat West Central 4-3 March 19 at Winchester.
