Tucker Arnold homered and drove in three runs as West Central beat Greenfield-Northwestern 7-2 March 26 at Winchester.
Arnold doubled in the first inning, stole third base and scored on a passed ball.
The Cougars scored three runs in the third inning. Jack Little walked, stole second and scored when Arnold doubled. Thrice Kirkpatrick followed with a home run and increased the Cougars lead to 4-0.
Arnold homered in the fourth inning after Anthony Hance walked with two outs. Ben Bangert walked with one out in the fifth inning. Bangert stole second and scored on an error.
Arnold went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a home run. He scored three runs, drove in three runs and had two stolen bases.
Kirkpatrick went 1-for-3 with a home run, scored one run and drove in two runs. Bangert went 1-for-2, scored one run and had a stolen base.
Little scored one run and had a stolen base. Hance scored one run.
Hayden Johns pitched four innings and picked up the victory. He allowed two runs and three hits. He walked six batters and struck out five. Kirkpatrick pitched the final three innings and allowed three hits, walked one batter and struck out four.
Bangert drove in two runs but West Central lost 7-5 at Athens March 25.
Hance singled to start the game. He scored when Kirkpatrick homered, and West Central led 2-0.
Kirkpatrick and Johns both singled in the fourth inning. Bangert singled and drove in Kirkpatrick.
Athens led 7-3 before the Cougars scored two runs in the seventh inning.
Little walked, Hance reached on an error, and Arnold walked to load the bases. Little scored when Johns reached base on an error. Bangert singled and drove in Hance.
