Calhoun District Unit 40 announced significant improvements to the Calhoun High School Library made it possible by the generous donation from former district librarian Mr. Emil Siedel.
At this time the district is continuing to study possible library access outside the traditional school days for both student and community members.
Mr. Siedel served the community with dedication and passion fostering a love for reading and learning among generations of students. The planned enhancements aim to create a more welcoming, resource rich environment that reflect his vision of the library as a hub for education and community connection.
To celebrate these updates and honor Mr. Seidel’s Legacy the district will host an open house on Thursday, April 23, from 4 p..m. to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the newly renovated library, enjoy light refreshments, and share memories and stories of Mr. Seidel.
Calhoun Unit 40 has invited the community to join in recognizing a legacy that continues to inspire and enrich the lives of students and residents alike.
