Hayden Johns drove in three runs to lead West Central to a 6-1 win over Greenfield-Northwestern April 23 at Greenfield.
Tucker Arnold singled in the first inning, stole second and third base and scored on an error to give the Cougars an early lead.
Jack Little walked in the third inning, and Arnold reached on an error. Johns doubled in both runners and increased the lead to 3-0. Thrice Kirkpatrick singled in the fifth inning, stole second and scored on a single by Johns.
Anthony Hance drove in two runs in the sixth inning and extended the lead to 6-0. Greenfield-Northwestern scored in the bottom of the sixth inning
Johns went 2-for-3 with a double, drove in three runs and had two stolen bases. Hance went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs for West Central (6-11).
Arnold went 1-for-3, scored two runs and had two stolen bases. Kirkpatrick went 1-for-4, scored one run and had one stolen base. Camden Wingler went 1-for-1 and scored one run.
Preston Adams and Jack Little each scored one run.
Kirkpatrick pitched six and two-thirds innings and picked up the win. He allowed one run and five hits. He walked two batters and struck out seven. Hance got the last out of the game on a ground out.
Routt scored the first seven runs of the game and beat West Central 8-1 Apr. 20 at Winchester.
Ban Bangert was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning, stole second and went to third on a sacrifice by Preston Adams. Tucker Arnold doubled and drove in Bangert.
Springfield Lutheran beat West Central 11-1 April 22 in Springfield.
Jack Little walked, and Preston Adams was hit by a pitch in the second inning. Little scored when Anthony Hance reached on an error.
