The Bob Price Memorial Scholarship awarded thirteen $1000 scholarships to area students this year. The scholarship is in memory of ISP Master Sergeant Bob Price and a way to continue his legacy of serving others by helping students fulfill their career dreams. Greenfield recipient is Leah Wood. Leah is attending Murray State University to study criminal justice and forensic accounting. She is the daughter of Hanna and Ryan Wood. Jerseyville recipient is Kamryn Drainer and she is attending Bethel University to study criminal justice. She is the daughter of Daniel and Melinda Drainer. North Greene recipient is Landon Gilmore. Landon plans to attend Lewis and Clark Community College to study criminal justice. He is the son of Derrick and Amber Gilmore.
The scholarship is available annually to graduating high school seniors in the five counties of
the former Illinois State Police District #18 (Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery). Ten scholarships were also awarded this year to Gillespie (2) Hillsboro (1) Northwestern (2), Carlinville (1), Nokomis (2) and Southwestern (1). In the past thirteen years that the scholarship has been available, over one hundred scholarships have been awarded.
