For the last Story Hour at Greenfield Public Library, Miss Pam (Painter) read the story “The Circus Ship” by Chris Van Dusen. The story centered around a ship full of circus animals that runs around off the coast of Maine. The animals swim ashore and are welcomed into the community and when the greedy circus owner goes to claim them, the community into which the animals have become acclimated, refuse to let him have them back. The story shows the bonds of a community. Following the story hours, the kids had the opportunity to do a craft of their choosing. Summer story hours will begin soon. The library is in the process of determining whether a morning or afternoon story hour will work best for parents and children, so let them know which you prefer.

There was a little guest for the last story hour of the school year – Peaches the little chihuahua. Ironically, she was older, at 14 years old, than any of the kids attending the story hour.
