Dwight and Mildred Ringhausen of Hardin celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary during a reception with friends and family at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Hardin Fellowship Hall on Sunday afternoon, November 24th.
They met in a singles group at Central Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, MO. Dwight had been relocated from Dallas to Kansas City through his work as an inspector with the USDA Food and Drug Administration and Mildred was working in the Accounting Department at Volker’s Department Store.
They married on November 21, 1964 at Central Presbyterian Church and spent their honeymoon in Dallas, TX and Santa Fe, NM. While in Santa Fe, they celebrated Thanksgiving while skiing at a local ski resort. They welcomed their first son, Brad, into their family two years later followed by a daughter, Charla in 1968, and another son, Alan in 1972. Over the course of their marriage they lived in Kansas City, MO and Denver, CO before retiring to Dwight’s family farm in Hardin in 1990.
Since retirement, Dwight has been involved with Masonic Lodge #792 of Calhoun County, serving as an officer, and has continued to pursue his passionate hobby of genealogy, in addition to gardening, raising cattle and mending fences on the family farm. Mildred has worked for the Center for American Archaeology in Kampsville and has volunteered with the Calhoun County Historical Society and served with the Calhoun County Senior Center. Both have been blessed with a supportive church family at the Presbyterian Church and have enjoyed travelling the U.S., Canada, England, and Germany in their retirement.
