Jerry Lee Sandberg, 83, of Crystal River, FL, passed away Monday, April 8, 2025.
Born Feb. 27, 1942 to the late Lawrence Sandberg and Eileen (Knoepflein) Sandberg. Jerry went to the Jerseyville schools and make a career out of truck driving, mainly for Amoco, where he made numerous friends that he kept for life. After retiring from Amoco he and his wife Vickie decided to do long haul trucking with Werner Enterprises, which allowed them to visit many states.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie; a bonus mother, Margaret Sandberg; two daughters, Sandie and Suzanne (Brad) Sandberg; four bonus children, Theresa Pippins, Tammy Hendrix (Robby), Rhonda Jackson (Cornell Cox) and Pete Fulton; grandchildren, Kayla Bray and Kelli (Pat) Kirbach; bonus grandchildren, Sheena Rhone, Jonathon Fulton, Van Crews, Reva Turner (Jeff), Lacy Fulton, Kayne Fulton, Mavin Fulton, Sarah Fulton, Chance Tanner, Faith Perrott (Andrew); great grandchildren, Alexis, Alyse, Alayna Williams, Braysen Hackworth, Emily and Corbin Kirbach; 20 bonus great grandchildren; two brothers, Jason and Larry (Jamie) Sandberg; nieces and nephews, Asyntha, Sawyer, Gracie, Reyah, Haley, Fisher and Waylon; two sisters in law, Jenny (Dave) Kepler, Leila Wright and her companion, Denny; and numerous relatives.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan Sandberg; and an infant great nephew, Miles Sandberg.
As per his wishes he was cremated.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Lake Westside Bar and Grill in Jerseyville. Food will be provided.
A Celebration of Life in Florida is to be announced later.
