The Two Rivers Family Fishing returned to Pere Marquette State Park over the weekend for the 36th year of the event. Although it was a little rainy this year, the event still attracted a huge crowd to Illinois’ largest state park to learn more about fishing and the wildlife in southern Illinois. “I wanted to give a big shout and thank you to the over 200 volunteers that make this event happen. It would not happen, truly, without all the volunteers that are out here,” Scott Isringhausen, with IDNR, said Saturday. “In addition to that, all the sponsors. Conco Phillips is one of our major sponsors. The Jersey County Board, Farm and Home Jerseyville and Walmart in Jerseyville, U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, the Army Corps of Engineers, they really have supported the Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair to make it such a successful event.”
