Betty’s Get-N-Go opened up Friday, July 4, for their last day. Betty Duggan said it’s been an enjoyable 12 years but she’s still looking forward to “nothing.” Her first retirement in 1999 ended up with her at the Get-N-Go and she’s absolutely going to miss all the friendly faces from the community. “It’s been an enjoyable twelve years,” she said. “There’s a lot of good people here, and I love people.” After several terms as mayor and years of operating the store, Betty’s become a familiar face to many in Fieldon and will certainly be missed by all her regulars who stop by for their coffee and ice cream.
