Jill Klocke | 75 | Golden Eagle

Jill Klocke, 75, of Golden Eagle, passed away at 11:58 a.m. Thursday July 17, 2025, at High Point Residence Carlinville, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on Feb. 5, 1950, to Henry and Arnita (Maloy) Katzenberger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judith Smith and Joyce Smith; and brother, David Katzenberger.

Jill married Ron Klocke in Sept. 20, 1969, and they lived on the family farm for more than 50 years. Together, they raised their daughter Tonya along with countless gardens and farm animals. They worked hard all week and spent weekends camping and fishing. Jill filled the home with great food and music, and could be found in the kitchen singing everything from gospel music to Rock N Roll. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She was quick-witted, always had a comeback and said exactly what was on her mind.  She was a force to be reckoned with. She loved God, an ice-cold Diet Pepsi, The Alton Telegraph, her grandchildren, chocolate, fishing and a big soft pretzel with cheese. She would fight someone over the first four things on this list.
After retiring from a long career working in a medical office, Jill enjoyed volunteering her time at Lutheran Children and Family Services in Hardin. She would give her last dollar to someone in need.

Jill left behind her husband, Ron Klocke of Golden Eagle; daughter, Tonya Kasinger (Shamin Presley) of Hardin; brother, Hank Katzenberger (Sheila) of Golden Eagle; grandchildren, Libby Kasinger (Mallory) of Edwardsville, Lucas Kasinger of Carlinville, Eli Kasinger, Eve Kasinger and Skylar Presley of Hardin. She had some that she loved like they were grandchildren: Zach Katzenberger (Brittnay), Lexie Katzenberger, Caleb Katzenberger and Isaiah Katzenberger all of Goden Eagle. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf in Brussels on Tuesday, July 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral was held on Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels, with burial following at Cresswell Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the funeral at The Old Point Pub in Brussels.
Donations can be made to Cresswell Cemetery.
