Griggsville-Perry High School will host an Open House for the community this Friday, Dec. 5 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. to see the new agriculture building on the Griggsville campus. After walking through the new ag building, make plans to purchase cookies at the Tornadoes for LIFE class’s annual Cookie Walk in the cafeteria! Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds from this event will go to funding the cooking lessons for the remainder of the year. Once you’ve purchased cookies, head to Nichol Gymnasium to catch some Tornado basketball as they play the Western Wildcats (5:15pm C Game; 6pm JV; 7:30pm Varsity)!
New Salem Town Hall Meet-and-Greet with Santa will happen this Saturday! Kids activities will begin at 4pm with a lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m. (lineup at 5:30p.m.).
The Golden Eagle Honor Guard will have cinnamon rolls and coffee/hot chocolate for sale for five dollars beginning at 9 a.m Saturday prior to the Eagle basketball game in the Perry gym.
The Perry Association of Community Enrichment (PACE) will hold its 2025 Christmas Light Parade Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. If you are interested in participating, show up that evening by 5:30 p.m .in front of the North Pike Fire Department, and bring a notecard with your entry’s information. GP’s PTO will host the 2025 Holiday Lights Tour Dec. 12 and 13 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Residents and businesses in the GP school district are encouraged to participate. For more information and to register your home or business, go to the GP PTO Facebook page and click on the link. Prizes will be awarded!
Plans are underway for the 11th Annual Breakfast with St. Nick at the North Pike Firehouse in Perry! This event will take place Dec. 20 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Children will have a chance to tell St. Nick their Christmas wishes, make crafts, eat breakfast, play game and so much more. The North Pole Gift Shop will be open again this year. Items, each under five dollars, will be available for children to purchase as Christmas gifts for loved ones and a volunteer will be available to help them shop and wrap their purchases. Admission to the breakfast is a non-perishable food item to be donated to the community Christmas baskets. This event is sponsored by the Ladies of North Pike in cooperation with PACE.
