Carson Clevenger and Dallas Surratt each won two events to lead the West Central boys’ track and field team at the Western Illinois Valley Conference meet May 7 at Carrollton.
The Cougars won their second straight title with 153 points. Greenfield-Northwestern was second with 119½. Brown County was third with 117 ½, and Virginia was fourth with 91½. Carrollton (63 ½) was fifth, and Pleasant Hill (50) was sixth. Routt (34) was seventh, and North Greene (8) was eighth.
Clevenger won the 200 in 22.6 and the long jump at 19-7. He was third in the triple jump at 37-0.
Surratt won the 110 hurdles in 16.0 and the 300 hurdles in 42.9. He was third in the high jump at 6-0.
Blayne Sidwell won the 400 in 52.4. He was second in the 100 in 11.2 and seventh in the long jump at 16-10. Liam Melanson won the 100 in 11.0.
Brady Engelbrecht was second in the 400 in 53.0 and third in the 200 in 23.4. Brayden Newingham was second in the 3200 in 11:55.5 and eighth in the 1600 in 5:48.1.
Aydin Kessinger was fourth in the discus at 122-4½ and ninth in the shot put at 34-1. Gabe Howard was fifth in the discus at 121-5, sixth in the shot put at 38-3 and seventh in the triple jump at 29-3. Orion Anderson was 11th in the 800 in 2:57.8.
West Central also won the 4×100 relay in 44.7, the 4×200 relay in 1:36.2 and the 4×400 relay in 3:49. They were fifth in the 4×800 relay in 11:32.4
Melanson, Brody Lawson, Beau Donovan and Sidwell ran in the 4×100 relay. Clevenger, Engelbrecht, Lawson and Donovan ran in the 4×200 relay. Melanson, Surratt, Donovan and Engelbrecht ran in the 4×800 relay.
Newingham, Lawson, Anderson and Brennan Kingery ran in the 4×800 relay.
