The Jersey Panthers softball team played a home conference game against the Civic Memorial Eagles on April 26. The game started slow in the first inning, but the bottom of the second inning saw the Panthers score two runs.
Then in the bottom of the third, the Panthers drove in four and took a 6-0 lead. Down by six in the top of the fourth inning, the Eagles scored seven runs and overtook the Panthers, 7-6. With the Eagles now controlling the game, the Panthers got to work in the bottom of the fifth and scored four.
The seven runs were all the Eagles could muster, as the Panthers scored two final runs in the sixth and won the game, 12-7.
The Panthers hold a win-loss record of 13-8 for the season. Their next game is a home non-conference game against the Litchfield Purple Panthers on Friday, May 6.
