Thanks to all who cleaned up from the storms
This is first full week of July and not much news in and around but little clean up after the straight line winds. Many thanks to all who worked diligently to get the many downed trees and restored power, many a neighbor helping neighbor!
As we are in the heart of summer, may we say through the dog days remember the time you were worked buckin’ bales, mowing with push mower, tending to the garden, cannin’ in the hot kitchen, pickin’ wild blackberries through the thorns, and just bustin’ tail! But also as a kid you were so looking forward to riding your bike to your friend house and bein’ gone for hours, gettin’ to ride through the hills in the back of the truck on fender wells or tailgate, wadin’ the crick, runnin’ them feet through the slick mud and finding so many treasures and throwing rocks, chasin’ little minnows and usually a little swimmin’ hole right there close, oh and at the end of the day, dirty and tired as can be but the day was a dream and who can say that the beautiful sound and feel of the fan in the window at bedtime wasn’t heaven too! Dirty and sweaty are truly good way to be! That’s what true summer is to me, take me back!
