The Carrollton Square will come alive on the evening of Friday, July 14, with good food and great music as the Carrollton Lions Club will host a fun-filled family event.
Activities will begin at 5 p.m. when Bernie Faul fires up her grill on the courthouse lawn to sell ribeye sandwiches, porky burgers and hot dogs. Proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated to the Carrollton City Cemetery to pay for upgrading and maintaining old and broken headstones.
After the main course, one can purchase a bit of dessert from the Lions Club who will be selling ice cream and Texas cake, a perennial favorite at their gazebo concerts.
Afterwards, settle in and be prepared to be entertained by the Outlaw Opry Band who will take the stage under the gazebo at 6:30 p.m.
Thankfully, the recent storms didn’t take out any trees, so there is plenty of cool shade near the gazebo, but concert goers will need to bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on to enjoy the concert.
“Everyone is cordially invited to attend, enjoy the fellowship and support a very worthwhile project,” Lions Club Member Larry Gillingham said. “The Carrollton Lions Club members thank you for your participation.”
