Over 76,000 deer harvested in Illinois this year

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced that more than 76,000 deer have harvested during the Illinois firearm season.
The IDNR said in a release that this year saw a preliminary total of 76,232 deer compared to 76,854 harvested deer during the 2022 season.
Calhoun County was listed with a total of 749 deer harvested for this year and a total of 724 harvested last year. Neighboring Jersey County had a total of 644 deer this year compared to 646 last year, Greene County had a total of 1010 this year and 1019 last year, Pike County had 1813 this year and 1840 last year, and Macoupin County had a total of 1521 deer this year compared to 1576 last year.
