Delhi Baptist Church held its annual Awana Grand Prix on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Awana clubbers got a pinewood car kit and designed a car. This year saw 26 participants and several younger clubbers that raced their favorite match box cars. Each clubber’s car got to race in three heats and were given points for what place their car finished in. Then the fastest cars raced again. Trophies were given to the three fastest cars and the top three designs. For speed, Alex Morgan took first place, Ameilia Remer took second place and Delaney Golike took third place. For design, Ryder Kallal took first place, Molly Kallal took second place and Molly Hooks took third place. Plenty of family and friends were there to cheer on the Awana racers.
