More intermittent showers throughout the week. I thought once April was over with the April showers might let up a bit. We did have a wonderful weekend which made Sunday a great day for all the mothers to celebrate their special day.

Monday started the first day of the bridge closure. Our guys on the Kampsville Ferry were doing an amazing job getting commuters across the river very timely and they all had smiles and waves. They are the best.

The Batchtown Community is joining everyone in the Calhoun Community in honoring Specialist Anthony Gilman on Memorial Day. He will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers as we recall his heroic accomplishments, and sacrifice for his country, and our freedom.

The past week has been a cloudy and wet one. From Tuesday through Friday we got well over two inches of rain. This week the weatherman predicts temperatures in the low 70’s and no rain, then a nice Mother’s Day weekend ahead near 80 degrees.

The Village of Kampsville regulations on ATV’s and Side by Sides. They can only be driven by a licensed driver. You must have a permit that you have paid for at the Village Hall. You must be able to provide proof of insurance and all safety requirements on vehicle.

Check out the FFA greenhouse Friday If you are so fortunate to still have your mother, please shower her with your love! She is one of the truest gifts in your life and deserves praise! So very blessed for my beautiful mom! Happy Mother’s Day to all of you beautiful souls this Sunday!

Pike County Senior Center monthly Fish Fry today The Missouri Department of Transportation announced that work on the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge is scheduled to begin May 12 with one lane traffic up to Friday, May 30, when the bridge will be completely closed for thirty days. Make your travel plans accordingly.

The beautiful springtime with the countryside covered with green grass, wildflowers, and blooming trees, puts us in the mood to get outdoors, take walks, and plant gardens, and flower beds. It’s a time of renewal.

Weather here is still unpredictable, temperatures the past week anywhere from 65 t0 80 degrees. Rain on several days, which the farmers didn’t appreciate but they have no choice.
