Traffic stop leads meth charges
On July 5, 2025, Jersey County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Sergeant Chris Jones and Deputy Justin Decker conducted a traffic stop of Clarence F. Smith on Krause Drive in Jerseyville. Using his K9 Jax, Deputy Decker established probable cause to search Smith’s vehicle.
