The Pike County Fair Association is bringing the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus to Pleasant Hill on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Pike County Fairgrounds.
The fair association is sponsoring the circus with shows at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, with an authentic one-ring big top circus.
“This year, we’re very excited to bring you our brand new 2025 performance featuring Big Cats presented by Trey Key, our Aerialist Extraordinaire Simone on the trapeze, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the Tight Rope and Wheel of Destiny, the high energy Macias family hand and foot juggling, and everyone’s favorite Circus Clown Leo Acton,” a press release states.
The day will start at 9:30 a.m. with a tent raising and tour where everyone can watch the big top go up and get a chance to look behind the scenes before the shows begin.
At 1 p.m. the midway opens with pony rides, moon bounce, a giant slide, concessions and even more fun for the whole family before the circus performances take place at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Prairieland FS Pleasant Hill, Central State Bank Pleasant Hill, Bank of Kampsville Pleasant Hill, UCB Pittsfield and Prairieland FS Pittsfield. Advanced tickets are $13 for adults, and $8 for children ages 2-12 and for seniors 65 and older.
In addition to a lower ticket price, a higher percentage of advanced ticket sales go directly back to the sponsor.
Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at the box office with tickets priced at $16 for adults and $9 for children and seniors.
