Carrollton’s Kyle Leonard scored his 1,000th point of his high school career on Friday night, Jan. 21, against the Pleasant Hill Wolves. Leonard, a senior, needed 22 points to reach the 1,000-point mark. The Carrollton Lady Hawks had made a scoreboard for the count up to the 1,000 point. Each time Leonard scored a point, the scoreboard would reflect the number of points needed to reach 1,000. On the 1,000 point, which was reached on a pair of free-throws in the second quarter, the game stopped and Leonard was congratulated by his coaches, athletic director, opposing coach and his parents and was presented with the game ball. Leonard went on to score four more points in the third quarter for a total of 26 points in the game to lead all Hawk scorers on the night. Here he is with his parents – Bill and Tina Leonard.
