Stephanie Trussell, Rep. Bailey’s Gubernatorial running mate was the keynote speaker at Jersey County’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner. She addressed the crowd, sharing some of the issues important to their campaign.
This year’s dinner was dedicated to the memory of Larry Joe Alexander, the beloved Jersey County Coroner for almost 30 years. His Daughters Kari Jo Alexander and Alyssa Breann Alexander decorated the legion and organized a memorial area with help from Kristie Ross. The Memorial included Ronald Regan, Abe Lincoln, and Shriner memorabilia collected by Larry Joe Alexander.
Kevin Ayers, Chairman of the Jersey County Republicans worked alongside Larry Joe Alexander for many years. Ayers said, “Larry is irreplaceable, he taught me everything I know.” Alexander’s memory was respectfully honored by Jersey County Citizens attending The Lincoln Day Dinner.
Additionally, Gib Ashlock received a standing ovation as he announced his retirement following this term, which concludes at the end of November this year.
