After reports of an accident, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department along with the East Pike Fire Department, the Spring Creek Fire Department and Pike County EMS were dispatched to a single unit vehicle crash on State Highway 100, south of 166th Avenue in Pearl Township. The incident was reported March 9 at 7:21 p.m.
Upon arrival of emergency responders, it was discovered that Brad L. Eigenman, 36, Rural Nebo, was deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle, driven by Eigenman, had struck a tree that had fallen across the roadway.
“This was a tragic accident that could happen to anyone. Mr. Eigenman happened to be the person that was on traveling on that road at that time,” Sheriff David Greenwood said. “So many of Pike County’s Highways are surrounded by large trees. Always be alert when you are traveling on them, especially after dark.”
