A Brighton man was found deceased in a submerged vehicle last weekend in Macoupin County.
The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3000 block of Miles Station Road, Brighton, in reference to a vehicle in a lake on Saturday, March 12, around 9:43 a.m., according to a release from Macoupin County Sheriff Shawn Kahl.
Upon their arrival, Deputies discovered a vehicle under the water. After removing the automobile from the lake, Deputies located 31-year-old Kenneth Torrez, of Brighton, inside.
Torrez was pronounced dead by the Macoupin County Coroner’s Office. The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Coroner’s Office, will be conducting the investigation. No further information has been made available.
