With Mothers day week upon us soon, the City of Jerseyville has planned several events that encourage residents and visitors to support local businesses while enjoying time with friends and family. Among these events is Ladies Choice Night, on Thursday, May 5, beginning at 6 p.m. in downtown Jerseyville.
The event has a variety of activities on the itinerary, all taking place at the partnered Jerseyville businesses throughout the evening.
Sweet Peas Florals and Gifts, and Ruby Mae’s Boutique have partnered with DJ’s Pub and Grill to host “Bubbles and Bouquets.” Sweet Peas will be providing grab-and-go flowers along with other gifts for visitors.
“I’m very honored to be a part of it,” said Shawnna Crawford, owner of Sweet Peas. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase local businesses in town.”
3 Sister’s Tea Apothecary & Yoga will offer tea blends and a skincare demonstration by Maven Makeup Skincare Co. Games and giveaways will accompany the presentation.
“We’re really excited about the event. I’m hoping to reach out to the surrounding areas and bring them into our town,” said Hannah Hutchinson, Owner of Maven Makeup Skincare Co.
Other entertainment will also take place that evening. Starting at 7. p.m., Brossio Tavern will feature martinis and karaoke and its reputable cuisines for purchase.
DJ’s Pub and Grill will also be hosting its monthly steak night during the event, with drinks from the bar available to patrons.
“I think it’s a great opportunity. I’m always looking to get new people to come to our business. Anything we can do to get new faces in here is ok by me,” said Kathy Smith, owner of DJ’s.
An Explore Jerseyville phone application and online map are available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play Store.
