Girl Scout Troop 77 of Jerseyville, part of the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, has donated nearly 100 boxes of cookies to local school staff as part of their Hometown Heroes project. The girls in each troop were given the opportunity to choose a group of people who contribute to the communities in which they live.
The Jerseyville troop voted that their teachers and school workers were their Hometown Heroes. Cookies were delivered to four schools across Jersey County on Wednesdy, May 11.
Scouts delivering cookies were: Brooklyn Johnson, Olivia Martin, Giada Hein, Luci Lilley, Ella Duggan, Zoey Martin, Adalyn Miller, Stevie Wilson, Karli Charlton, Aubree Metcalfe, and Brooklynn Metcalfe.
Other scouts in the troop who raised funds and donated cookies were Karliah McDonald, Danielle Behringer, Charlie Charlton, Abilene Bray, Amelia Wade, Evelyn Wallace, Emmy and Lizzy Steinkuehler, and Penelope Lucas.
