The regular meeting of the Grafton City Council was called to order Tuesday, June 21, at Grafton City Hall.
Once the council minutes from the May 17 council meeting were approved, Mayor Mike Morrow presented Stan Gula with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts in selling the Grafton Hills lots.
After the treasurer’s report was approved, Nick Hutchins from the public works department gave a report of the recent projects going on throughout the City of Grafton. Hutchins shared with the council the recent efforts of the Boy Scout Troop who built six raised garden beds.
Under the Mayor’s report, Morrow shared with the council that the Coast Guard thanked the City of Grafton for supporting safe boating week. Morrow reported that the strategic grant committee has been researching grants that align with the city’s needs, “We’re excited about that and they’re doing great work,” Morrow added.
Mary Lillisve reported on behalf of the marketing and tourism committee. Lillisve summarized their upcoming plans stating, “there’s a lot of things for people to do in Grafton, and we plan to keep pushing that.”
Under New Business the following items were approved:
• Resolution 2022-06 June Alzheimer’s and brain awareness month.
• 2022-07 city support for the chamber of commerce.
• $200,000 line of credit to start grafton hills sidewalk and culvert project.
Planning and zoning recommendations, tabled until next month.
The Grafton City Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.
