From the desk of Pastor David Slagle-217-473-1892.
I sometimes wonder if the inventor of paint by number was inspired by God’s fall colors. Today was a special day in the life of our church family. Robert who several months earlier made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and today with family and church family was obedient and obedience is a characteristic of followers of Christ. Baptism is an act of obedience both for the new believer and the church. We baptize because we desire to follow Christ’s command in Matthew 28:16-20. Walkerville Baptist Church thanks Pastor Isaac King and the Hillview Church for their gracious use of their baptistery. We are collecting warm gloves, socks, caps, and scarves for the friday after thanksgiving celebration in the Roodhouse Park. Also we are collecting non-perishable food items for the north greene food pantry. Praise for the ongoing of Denny Vetter. Judy and I want to thank our church family for the cards and gifts in response to pastor appreciation month. Thank you each and all. We invite you to join us each Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. for bible study. All are welcome– come as you are. Need a Bible? We have one for you. Looking forward to worshiping on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. God bless!
