Patricia Loretta ‘Pat’ Smith | 86 | Hannibal

Patricia Loretta “Pat” Smith, 86, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022 at the Community Loving Care Hospice in Hannibal.
Pat was born Dec. 11, 1935 near Kampsville, Illinois, the daughter of Gordon Elba and Loretta Frances Kamp Suhling. She married Owen Leo “Sonny” Smith on Feb. 20, 1955 in Wood River and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1991.
Pat had been employed by several local businesses over the years, including Shell Oil in Wood River and the Department of Motor Vehicles in Creve Coeur, MO. Pat also managed the bookkeeping for Smith Farms in Pleasant Hill.
She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and visiting the casino. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Belleview and Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly (Gayle) Puterbaugh of Camdenton, Missouri, two granddaughters Michelle Brake and Megan Brake of Maryland Heights, Missouri, two stepbrothers Jim (Mary) Benz of Quincy and Dan (Sharon) Benz of Baltimore, Maryland, a brother-in-law Bob (Audrey) Smith of Lititz, Pennsylvania, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sonny, her son Michael Owen Smith, a brother-in-law William “Bill” Barton, a nephew William “Bill” Barton, and a stepbrother Tom Benz.
There will be no services.  Memorials may be made to Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Illinois.
