Jacqueline “Jackie” Price, née Horn, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 83.
Jackie was born on Jan. 10, 1943, in Carlinville, Illinois, to Mary Margueritte (née March) Horn and Harold Horn, a World War II veteran and optometrist. She spent her early years in Carrollton, Illinois, where she graduated from high school before continuing her education at William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, and later earning her Associate’s Degree from Lewis & Clark College in Godfrey, Illinois.
On Sept. 1, 1962, Jackie married the love of her life, Donald Price. Together they built a loving home and family in Jerseyville, Illinois. Jackie devoted many years to supporting Don in the success of Calhoun Drug in Hardin, Illinois, where they faithfully served their community from 1972 until 2007.
Jackie was a devoted wife, attentive mother, and proud grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Donald Price; her daughters, Megan Price and Stephanie Erthal, both of the greater St. Louis area; and her beloved grandchildren, Anne and Charles Erthal.
A woman of many interests and deep compassion, Jackie was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyville, Illinois. She was an avid world traveler, sharing many memorable adventures with Don over the years. Jackie also had a lifelong love for animals, especially elephants and birds, and found simple joy in feeding ducks wherever she could. She cherished time spent with family and friends around a bridge table and never passed up a great game.
Jackie’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jackie’s Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyville, Illinois on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at the Carrollton City Cemetery in Carrollton, Illinois.
