Fred Moulton | 97 | White Hall

Fred Moulton, age  97, died at Evervella in White Hall, IL. He has lived a long and meaningful life marked by hard work, devotion to family and service to his community.
He was born June 10, 1928 in White Hall, IL the son of Carl E. Moulton and Mamie Greer Moulton. Fred married Jeanne Coonrod Moulton on June 27, 1948 in White Hall.
He is survived by his sons, Jim (Debra) Moulton and Steve (Tracy) Moulton. He is also survived by his brother, Carl Jr. (Beverly) Moulton; and sisters-in-law, Margie Coonrod, Delores Shugart; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; son, Robert (Jo) Moulton; his daughter, Patricia Moulton Siemer and his brother, Vince Moulton.
Fred is the proud grandfather of Heather (Alan) Timm, Bryce (Eva) Moulton, Brad Moulton, Andy Moulton, Kendra (Blake) Cunningham, Scott (Jenny) Moulton, Lori (Brian) Everett, Maurissa (Bryce) Heaton, Nathan Schmidt, Barrett (Emily) Schmidt, and Graham Schmidt.
Fred has 22 great-grandchildren.
Fred has lived at the same address for more than 90 years, a remarkable testament to his deep roots and connection to home.
Throughout his life, Fred was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He spent his entire career working at his family’s John Deere dealership. During the Second World War, he began rebuilding tractors, demonstrating the mechanical skill and determination that would define much of his life. He also farmed from a young age, beginning as a teenager on a hay baling crew, later purchasing four farms of his own, and continuing to farm in to his 80’s.
Fred enjoyed many hobbies and interests over the years. He loved woodworking, bowling, metal detecting and coin collecting. He and Jeanne loved antiques, collecting toothpick holders and traveling. He enjoyed playing poker on Wednesday nights with his friends.
He was also a longtime member of the White Hall Lions Club and a member of White Hall First Baptist Church. He shared his love of music by playing drums in the Kentucky Colonels jazz band. Fred served his community as a school board member and was also on the city planning commission.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial to follow at White Hall Cemetery.
