Zack Evans and Chance Little combined to score 49 points, and West Central beat Calhoun 68-34 Jan. 7 in the first round of the Winchester Invitational Tournament.
Little scored to first points of the game, and Evans scored the next 10 points. Evans made a three-point basket to give the Cougars a 12-0 lead. They led 26-9 after one quarter.
Little scored twice, and Evans scored to start the second quarter to extend the lead to 32-9.Dalton Hutton scored before Evans made two free throws to close out the quarter, and West Central led 47-20 at halftime.
West Central scored the first seven points of the third quarter. Little scored twice, and Evans made a three-point basket to extend the lead to 54-20. They led 62-27 after three quarters.
Evans scored 28 points, and Little scored 21 to lead West Central.
Jaydon Howard scored six points and had 13 rebounds. Hutton and Derek Price each scored four points. Mason Berry scored three points and had nine rebounds and five assists. Cameron Sievers scored two points, and Tyson Brown had four assists.
