The Jersey County Board took a moment to recognize and present a resolution of sympathy to the families of Gary Devening and Alan Womack during Tuesday’s County Board Meeting.
Alan Womack’s family took a moment to thank the board for their sympathy.
“I just wanted to thank everybody that helped with his election and supported him through all of that, I really do,” Womack’s family said. “It was something he really really wanted. Thank you all.”
Board Chairman Gary Krueger said Womack was a “grand guy.”
“We were looking forward to serving with him,” Chairman Krueger said. “We really wanted his expertise on a lot of the electrical and heating and cooling problems that we had. He was really just a grand guy.”
Devening was recognized for his work with the county by the board, having served with the Jersey County Highway Department for a little over 47 years.
