David Robertson, 32, of Granite City, was sentenced to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a class X felony for armed violence.
The sentencing comes from an incident in October when the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office received a call about residential burglary that resulted in Robertson receiving 32 charges, 26 of which were felonies.
October’s incident began when a resident noticed their home was ransacked with firearms and a vehicle missing. The victim also reported that they had seen the stolen truck on the Illinois River Road.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to the area while notifying the ferries of the situation and warning that the subject was considered to be armed and dangerous.
Robertson was apprehended in Brussels while attempting to avoid police in a local business after colliding with another vehicle in the stolen truck, requiring the occupant of the vehicle to be transported to Jersey Community Hospital.
Also sentenced recently was Brian Rose. Rose, 47, of Batchtown, pled guilty last month to two counts of possession of methamphetamine and one count of patronizing a prostitute.
Charges stemmed from several incidents that occurred in 2022 which included multiple arrests in August and September for possession of methamphetamine, soliciting a sexual act and patronizing a prostitute.
Subsequent to the guilty plea, Rose was sentenced to eight years imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
