The Jersey Community High School (JCHS) held an open house event last Wednesday, Feb. 15.
JCHS students from Career and Technical Education programs gave tours of the school’s many facilities, classes, and other areas for student development. The goal for JCHS was to have 30 business people attend the open house; they exceeded their goal by 18, as 48 business people from 23 different businesses attended the event.
These businesses included Jersey State Bank, 1st MidAmerica Credit Union, Jersey Community Hospital, Sinclair Foods, and Scooter’s Coffee. Stops along the tour included visits to the Maker Space, wood shop, auto classes, welding classes, and Media Center. The students giving the tours were courteous, professional, and friendly as they gave detailed and informed answers to whatever questions arose from visitors. Tour guides spoke about the many opportunities, classes, and advancement options JCHS offers its students.
JCHS is open to giving more local business tours of the school to showcase the many new happenings occurring each day. Any local business interested in taking a tour can contact JCHS at 618-498-5521.
