It has been more than a month and a half since 39-year-old Kaila Marie Vincent-Vatole of Jersey County disappeared and she has still not been found.
Vincent-Vatole was last seen on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 8, near Little Piasa Road in Dow. She has been described as a 5’3”, 111 pound white female and was wearing black sweat pants, black hooded sweatshirt, and white high top sneakers at the time of her disappearance.
Jersey County Sheriff Nick Manns said that the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) has had several reports of possible sightings of Vincent-Vatole, but that none have been confirmed.
“There have been several possible sightings in Madison County,” said Manns. “We’ve gotten reports from people who were certain that they saw her, but we haven’t been able to confirm any of them.”
Vincent-Vatole has been described as “Missing and Endangered” by the Missing Persons Awareness Network. She has a health issue that requires her to wear colostomy bags and she did not have any medical supplies with her when she went missing. Manns said that they have called hospitals, but that there are hundreds of hospitals and other clinics she could have gone to outside of the area.
Manns said that the JCSO is still diligently searching for Vincent-Vatole and that they have completed three aerial searches.
“We have followed up on scores of leads and have done our due diligence,” said Manns, “calling hospitals and putting up fliers.”
Manns, as well as Vincent-Vatole’s sister, Angie Vincent-Bollinger, urge anyone who has any information to “please let us know.”
“I would just like the public to know that if they have any leads, no matter how small to please let us know,” said Manns. “Sometimes people think that what they have is too small and won’t matter, but every bit of information makes a difference. We have been working closely with [Vincent-Vatole’s] family so information can be given to them as well and they will pass it along to us.”
Manns also said information regarding Vincent-Vatole can be shared anonymously.
Anyone with any information regarding Vincent-Vatole or her whereabouts should contact the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office at 618-498-6881.
